Old Self, New Self
Ephesians 4:17-24
Deep Dive:
“If I am a ‘new creation’ in Christ, then why do I keep sinning? Why am I still being tempted?” This is a common question many Christians ask as they begin pursuing their faith in Christ. The verse that helps me out is the verse we started our service with:
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
This is the wonderful promise of the new life that Christ promises those who are in Him. Yet, we still want to know what it means that the “old has gone” and what is the “new” that has come? How does this reality work itself out in my battle with sin and temptation?
