Counseling Disclaimer

The counseling and pastoral care provided by Loma Vista Community Church are intended to offer biblical encouragement, spiritual guidance, prayer, and practical support. Our pastoral counselors and ministry leaders seek to care for individuals in accordance with the teachings of Scripture and the mission of our church.

Church counseling is not a substitute for professional mental-health, medical, or clinical services. Our counselors do not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions unless they are separately licensed and acting within the scope of their professional credentials.

When a situation involves needs beyond the scope of our pastoral care, we may recommend or refer individuals to qualified licensed counselors, psychologists, physicians, or other appropriate professionals. We encourage anyone experiencing significant emotional, psychological, medical, or relational difficulties to seek appropriate professional care.

Information shared during counseling will be treated with appropriate discretion. However, confidentiality may have limits when disclosure is required by law or when there is a serious concern regarding the safety of the individual or others, including situations involving suspected abuse or neglect.

If you are experiencing an emergency, are in immediate danger, or are considering harming yourself or someone else, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. You may also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

By participating in church counseling, you acknowledge that this ministry provides pastoral and spiritual care and is not intended to replace professional medical or mental-health treatment.
