Living a Worthy Life
Ephesians 4:1-6
Deep Dive –
On Sunday, I summarized a story within Matthew’s gospel about a man who was forgiven of an impossible debt and yet failed to forgive someone else of a much lesser debt. Read through the parable to get the full force of what Jesus was teaching us:
Matthew 18:21-35
Remember: Jesus is not teaching that a Christian can lose their salvation if they don’t forgive. [1] Rather, He is simply comparing the debt we have to God compared to the debt/offenses others inflict on us. When we fully realize this, it makes forgiving others very possible.
[1] Although a case could be made that Jesus did imply that a person who refuses to forgive others may not be saved after all.
